The Civil Servant is correct that Cashflow problems will continue to ‘sink’ large numbers of well run construction companies. Companies only go bust for one reason, lack of cash. This is due to underpayment, non payment and late payment. Some of the worst payers are Government bodies & local authorities.

I wonder if clients are worried enough to address core issues, such as risk allocation, the cost of pre-qualification and inequitable forms of contract. These issues are just as important as cashflow when contractors look at who this wish to engage with.
